COMMON CODE VIOLATIONS:

ANIMAL CONTROL:

Dog-At-Large, Failure to License Dog, Barking Dogs, Neglect & Abuse.

PARKING ENFORCEMENT: 

Abandoned/Inoperable vehicles, detached trailers (no trailer shall be detached from a towing vehicle and left standing in any public right-of-way), attached trailers (not to exceed 24 hours), expired registration, over-size and weight vehicles on public and private property.

ACCUMULATION OF TRASH:  

Debris on premises prohibited and declared a nuisance.

OVERGROWTH OF VEGETATION AND NOXIOUS WEEDS ON PREMISES

Weeds shall be cut close to the ground ad kept so cut.

SIDEWALKS - SNOW & ICE

Duty to keep sidewalks clear of obstructions

  ANIMAL CONTROL  
  All dogs picked up by the Johnstown Police Department are taken directly to the Larimer Humane Society.  To claim your animal, please call (970) 226-3647.

  CATS

Johnstown does not have a cat ordinance.  The police department will not impound cats, unless a bite has occurred or the cat has an obvious disease.

  DOG LICENSING

ALL DOGS RESIDING IN THE TOWN LIMITS ARE REQUIRED TO BE LICENSED IN THE TOWN OF JOHNSTOWN WITHIN 30 DAYS OF RESIDENCY.

Dog licenses may be obtained at the Johnstown Town Hall - 450 South Parish Avenue.

(Proof of current rabies vaccination required)

Licenses are valid for only 1 year and must be renewed by April of each year.

FEES:

$4.00 PER DOG, PER YEAR IF SPAYED OR NEUTERED
